To provide extraordinary Leadership in the Cashiers Area as an Advocate for business, Information Source for the community, and Conduit for building destination awareness and responsible growth, we embrace Core Values of Energy & Enthusiasm, Integrity, Leadership, Inclusivity, Hospitality, Preservation of Culture and Commitment to Membership. By promoting Chamber businesses and leading economic development initiatives throughout the year, the Chamber works to ensure commercial prosperity and high quality of life in our mountain communities.
Workforce Development

Workforce development—including housing, recruitment, and retention—is essential to supporting Chamber businesses and fostering long-term economic success in Cashiers and the surrounding communities.
Through collaboration with area accommodations, clubs, retailers, restaurants, trades & services, educational institutions, and other industries, we actively promote Cashiers as a workforce destination using these initiatives:
- An online Jobs Board, a resource for connecting employers with job seekers.
- Ongoing outreach via social media, banner displays, press publications, and email communications to enhance workforce engagement.
- Stakeholder collaboration to expand housing diversity, training programs, and employment incentives to attract and retain a strong workforce.
Additionally, the Cashiers Area Chamber serves as a stakeholder with the Our State, Our Home workforce initiative, a Carolina Across 100 program led by UNC-Chapel Hill, dedicated to addressing workforce challenges across North Carolina.
Through these efforts, we remain committed to building a resilient, skilled, and thriving workforce that supports both businesses and the broader community.
Pedestrian Mobility & Safety

Pedestrian mobility and safety—including sidewalks, pathways, and public awareness initiatives—are essential to supporting Chamber businesses, driving economic development, and enhancing destination awareness for Cashiers and its surrounding communities.
As identified in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Study (Page 28, "Suggested Functions and Roles of Community Organizations in Cashiers"), the Chamber plays a vital role in advocating for roads, sidewalks, and infrastructure improvements. Through ongoing communications and strategic partnerships with area stakeholders and officials, we actively promote and support projects such as:
Construction of new sidewalks to improve walkability and accessibility.
The Cashiers Greenway Ramble trail to enhance outdoor connectivity.
Expanded pedestrian mobility initiatives that contribute to a safer, more accessible, and vibrant community. By championing these efforts, the Chamber remains committed to shaping a well-connected, pedestrian-friendly Cashiers for both residents and visitors.
Broadband Connectivity
Broadband Connectivity for business, residential and communities is a key project the Chamber works to “move the needle” on. With our area’s unique geographic location and topography, service delivery is challenging but of growing economic importance. Chamber efforts include engagement with organizations such as the Southwestern Commission, Jackson County officials, corporate providers and area businesses, communities and residents looking to ensure prosperity and maintain a high quality of life in our mountain communities through connectivity. Outreach to explore new technologies for affordable broadband access is ongoing.
Infrastructure & Sustainable Growth

Infrastructure including the expansion of Sewer & Water Resources, Technology, and Transportation is the basis for a thriving community. These pillars provide a solid foundation for responsible growth in Cashiers, Glenville, Lake Toxaway, Sapphire and surrounding mountain areas. Our Chamber is committed to being a continuous advocate with local representatives and stakeholders, county officials, and at the state level to maintain and improve the area’s infrastructure for business prosperity, environmental protection and quality mountain living.
Engaging & Connecting Our Community

The Cashiers Area Chamber actively engages the local community, businesses, and stakeholders through a comprehensive communications network and multiple platforms. We provide regular informational updates in print, on our website, via email, and across social media, covering key topics such as business success stories, community meetings and forums, Chamber news and events, and public service announcements.
We further enhance engagement through the development and maintenance of:
